A Little Death Makes Life More Meaningful
Posted on February 07, 2009 at 08:40pm by Kieran
"I have a project going on with Mark Hoppus. It's called Plus 44,
and we're recording and writing as we speak."
-Travis Barker

On April 4th, 2005 this interview started it all. On April 9th, 2005 www.plus44online.com was born. Many fansites came and went, but we've been along for the ride ever since. We couldn't have done it without you, the thousands of visitors who continue to come to our site every day for your +44 related news. Thank you.

With all - of - the - recent - developments, it only makes sense for +44 Online to go on an indefinite hiatus (but hey, we all know how "definite" those are).

Thank you to Mark, Travis, Shane, and Craig for all of the wonderful music and memories!

The past is only the future with the lights on. The future is 182online.com.

MTV: Are Blink-182 Working On A New Album?
Posted on February 06, 2009 at 09:08pm by Kieran
  From MTV:

"On Thursday, Blink-182 fans rejoiced when it was announced that the long-dormant band would be reuniting as presenters at Sunday's Grammy Awards. While it's not clear if Blink will be doing anything more than presenting an award, it does appear that there may be more to come from the band.

At least that's what a member of a Blink offshoot band — Tom DeLonge's Angels & Airwaves — seems to have confirmed in a chat on the social-networking site Modlife.

On Thursday night, A&A guitarist David Kennedy was fielding fan questions about that band's new album when, with a few keystrokes, he changed the game entirely, hinting that while Angels might be putting out an album this year, Blink may be, too.

"I'm trying to write a statement about how Angels is all good while Blink is coming back," Kennedy wrote.

When asked by a fan if that meant Angels & Airwaves were going to be scrapped in favor of Blink-182, he replied, "No sir. ... It will be a good creative year and I want to make sure that comes across."

Then, when asked by another fan to clarify the fact that Blink are coming back, Kennedy wrote "Yeah, putting out a record."

Of course, that sent message boards and Blink fan sites into a frenzy, especially given the thawing of tensions between DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker in the wake of Barker's escape from a plane crash last fall, and Hoppus telling MTV News in January that, when it came to a Blink reunion, "the future is wide open."

At press time, Kennedy's comments had not been confirmed, MTV News' attempts to contact A&A's label and management were unsuccessful, and e-mails to Hoppus and DeLonge had not been returned."

David Kennedy Appears To Confirm Blink\'s Return
Posted on February 06, 2009 at 08:46pm by Kieran
  From absolutepunk.net:

"David Kennedy of Angels & Airwaves appears to have confirmed a new Blink-182 record in a chat on Modlife. Screenshot can be found in the replies. Dun dun dun ...

The screenshots come from multiple users of modlife. A request for comment to representatives of the band has so far been unreturned. Take it as you will for now.

Edit: Full conversation.

Update: Nick Martin has posted a blog and picture saying he's seen Blink182 in the studio.

Update #2: Tom just did a video update - the audio can be found here. Yes, that's exactly what he did ..."

The Press Release
Posted on February 05, 2009 at 11:52am by Kieran
Here's an excerpt from the press release announcing additional presenters for the Grammys:

"Actress Kate Beckinsale, a reunited Blink-182, eight-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Natalie Cole, GRAMMY winner Sean "Diddy" Combs, actress/musician Zooey Deschanel, Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, three-time GRAMMY winner Green Day, actor Dwayne Johnson, five-time GRAMMY winner John Legend, current GRAMMY nominee Leona Lewis, two-time GRAMMY winner LL Cool J, current GRAMMY nominee Jason Mraz, actress Emily Procter from "CSI: Miami," two-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee LeAnn Rimes, and three-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee will.i.am are the latest presenters announced for Music's Biggest Night."

MTV: Blink-182 To Reunite At The Grammys
Posted on February 05, 2009 at 10:27am by Adam
MTV reports that blink-182 will reunite to present at the Grammy Awards:

"Long-suffering Blink-182 fans, your prayers have been answered. Or, at least, taken a step toward being answered. On Thursday (February 5), the Recording Academy announced that Blink-182 will reunite at Sunday's 51st Annual Grammy Awards ... as presenters.

It will mark the first time that all three members of Blink — Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker — have shared a stage together since December 2004. They announced they were going on "indefinite hiatus" in February 2005, and since then have been trading barbs and focusing on new projects — Hoppus and Barker with +44, DeLonge with Angels & Airwaves.

But in recent months, that frosty relationship seems to have thawed. First, Hoppus wrote a blog announcing that he, Barker and DeLonge had begun spending time together, fueling rumors of a full-scale Blink-182 reunion. Then, in an exclusive interview with MTV News, Hoppus said that he and DeLonge were "friends" again, and that "the future is wide open" for a Blink reunion.

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, let's get back to this Sunday. It's not known whether Blink will be doing anything besides presenting at the Grammys, but the fact that they were sandwiched between Kate Beckinsale and Natalie Cole in a press release also announcing Diddy, Green Day, LL Cool J and Will.I.Am as presenters seems to indicate that they won't be doing much else.

Phone calls to representatives for the Recording Academy were not returned by press time, nor was an e-mail to Hoppus asking for comment."

Looks like KROQ needs to cut back on the weed. Here's an email from KROQ regarding the TRV$ DJ-AM show we they about earlier today:

"The TRV$+DJ-AM show will not go on sale tomorrow as we previously told you. We are too high to pay attention to details and had the date wrong. Do not try to buy tickets tomorrow. And now here is a message from AM & Travis...

"Travis and AM love their fans and would love to play Orange County. Unfortunately the promoter of the event provided KROQ with a date of February 24th that wasn’t able to work for the guys due to scheduling. Travis and AM want to thank their fans for their continuous support and look forward to rescheduling the date sometime in the future."

MTV: Our Wish List For Blink-182, Linkin Park And More Rockers In 2009
Posted on January 17, 2009 at 04:31pm by Kieran
  MTV wants a blink-182 reunion in 2009...duh:

"Blink-182: The boys are talking again, and while Tom, Travis and Mark are all working on their own projects, we know a thaw has happened and the door is open to a possible reunion. We're not asking for much — maybe just a few spot shows leading to a full-fledged naked dance party and a new album. That's all."
